Glacier Park International Airport was undergoing a major terminal modernization while still needing to maintain full operational security. The existing access control infrastructure featured convoluted integrations between various systems with limited and expensive support. With ~175 readers and 200+ cameras, the conversion to standardized Mercury hardware had to happen alongside active construction that constantly shifted SIDA boundaries.

Mercury Panel Migration
Full replacement of the legacy proprietary panel infrastructure with standardized Mercury hardware under Genetec for a unified video and access control interface. Required deeper physical coordination and custom back-end connectors to maintain continuity during the 1-week cutover window.
Airport Badging Solution Plugins
Deployed the Airport Badging Solution Plugins. Tenants now use authorized signatory portals to manage their own employees' badging process directly.
Web-App + Cloud Federation
Dynamic mapping ported to a secure web interface for operators. Full system federated to Genetec SaaS so tenant-controlled spaces are viewable over the web — eliminating dedicated client machines and constant patching.
Construction-Adaptive Access
Axis reader interface modules (powered by Genetec) enabled rapid temporary access control changes as SIDA lines moved throughout the terminal expansion.
CYBERSECURITY & COMPLIANCE

Encryption at every layer.

Legacy SoftwareHouse equipment was replaced throughout to achieve full end-to-end encryption. The new Mercury-based platform meets current cybersecurity requirements for critical infrastructure and supports secure cloud federation without exposing dedicated LAN resources.

Dispatch, badging, IT, and construction stakeholders worked in lockstep. Weekly alignment kept security aligned with moving SIDA boundaries throughout the terminal modernization.

Initial conversion completed January 2025. Back-end connectors kept every door and alarm live with minimal operational impact.

Phase 2 expansion complete
Terminal expansion added 50 doors and 30 cameras. The flexible architecture allowed seamless growth without re-engineering the core system.
THE RESULT

Built to evolve.

Glacier Park now runs a fully modern, encrypted Genetec environment with Mercury hardware, tenant self-service badging, web-based operator tools, and secure cloud federation. The system adapted in real time to construction changes and has already absorbed a major Phase 2 expansion with zero re-architecture.

Tenants manage their own employees. Operators use a clean web interface. The airport has a supportable, compliant platform that will continue to scale with future terminal growth.
